Stephen is a Director of Ralli Ltd Solicitors, specialists in personal injury and medical negligence litigation. He is also the Senior Partner and Head of the Regulatory and Business Crime Department at Ralli Solicitors LLP in Manchester.
He was one of the founding members of the firm during its inception in 1973 and has specialised in serious crime, fraud and regulatory law for over 40 years.

I was one of the founding members of the firm back in 1973.

Over the past 25 years I have been involved in many important cases heard in the UK, Europe, the USA and worldwide, including; Arrows, Eagle Trust, BCCI, Kevin Taylor (the Stalker Affair), Alliance Resources, RPD (Australia) Operation Divert, Aleef, Dowson.
Specialising in serious crime cases and issues relating to public enquiries, I have been involved in many high profile cases including:
- Operation Crystallite – Stafford Crown Court 2012 – Mortgage fraud
- Operation Steamroller – Southwark Crown Court 2014 – £70 million boiler room fraud. Investigation by SFO and authorities in New Zealand, Hong Kong and US.
- Operation Snowbank – Liverpool Crown Court July 2012 – Conspiracy to cheat HMRC (sales of platinum imported from EU).
- Operation Elveden – The Old Bailey 2011 – Investigation into allegations of inappropriate payments by some journalists to police and public officials.
- Operation Rust – Canterbury Crown Court – Jan 2012
- Commander Ali Dizaei – Metropolitan Police Commander – I have also worked on former Scotland Yard Commander Ali Dizaei’s successful appeal against his corruption conviction.
More recently I have successfully defended Robert Manning (former Senior Partner of Fox Hayes Solicitors) in a serious fraud office corruption case concerning the largest ever boiler room fraud involving over £100M.
